MEP Engineering for Medical Facilities

Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Systems Engineering

Reliable Design for Clinics and Specialized Practices

Neville Engineering is trusted to provide expert MEP engineering services for medical facilities, with a focus on smaller clinics and specialized healthcare practices. From dental offices and outpatient clinics to private medical suites and specialty care centers, we design systems that support patient comfort, clinical operations, and regulatory compliance.

  • Mechanical Systems: HVAC and ventilation designed for temperature control, indoor air quality, and appropriate air exchange.

  • Electrical Systems: Power distribution, lighting, and emergency systems designed to support medical equipment and daily operations.

  • Plumbing Systems: Water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems designed for clinical use, including exam rooms and sterilization areas.

Project Details:

Neville Engineering provided full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design services for the new Stepping Stone facility, a purpose-built space dedicated to mental health and substance use disorder treatment. From early planning through final documentation, our team worked closely with Orbis Architects and the client to ensure the systems would support a safe, welcoming, and resilient environment for healing. Key MEP highlights include: Mechanical systems designed for optimal indoor air quality, patient comfort, and long-term energy efficiency. Electrical infrastructure supporting safety, flexibility, and critical systems integration—along with calming, well-balanced lighting. Plumbing systems that prioritize sanitation, reliability, and behavioral health-specific code compliance. This project reflects our belief that great engineering doesn’t just power buildings—it supports the people inside them. We’re proud to have played a role in advancing Stepping Stone’s mission.

Medical Facility MEP Design FAQs

Why is specialized MEP design important for smaller medical facilities?

Even smaller clinics and specialized practices must meet strict standards for safety, hygiene, and reliability. Proper MEP design ensures systems operate consistently, support clinical equipment, and comply with healthcare-related codes without overbuilding systems meant for large hospitals.

Do MEP engineers work on medical tenant improvements and renovations?

Yes. MEP engineers frequently support tenant build-outs, renovations, and expansions for medical offices. This includes adapting existing systems to new layouts, adding capacity for equipment, and upgrading systems to meet current codes.

Do MEP engineers work on medical tenant improvements and renovations?

Absolutely. MEP engineers can assess and upgrade older hotel systems to improve performance, reduce energy waste, and bring facilities up to modern code and comfort standards.
